Students Celebrate Earth Day with Creativity, Learning, and Connection

Lake Mary Preparatory School celebrated Earth Day in a joyful and meaningful way, as students of all ages came together to learn about, care for, and connect with the world around them.

The day’s activities highlighted the school’s commitment to hands-on learning, creativity, and environmental stewardship. Middle school students took the lead by designing and running engaging learning stations for 2nd through 5th graders in The Backyard, turning the outdoors into a living classroom.

Meanwhile, our youngest learners added their own colorful touch to the campus. Kindergarten and 1st-grade students planted vibrant flowers, brightening the grounds while learning the importance of nurturing nature. Their day continued alongside 8th graders, where they collaborated on art projects using natural materials, crafted wind chimes for the LMP Sound Garden, and listened to original stories written and illustrated by the older students in science class.

This integrated collaboration sparked creativity, strengthened connections, and gave every student a chance to reflect on the role they play in caring for the planet.

The celebration served as a reminder of the power of learning beyond the classroom and the importance of coming together to honor the earth. Lake Mary Prep is proud of its students’ creativity, compassion, and commitment to caring for the world around them.
